Title:
No menubar for gedit when ran as sudo

Status in gedit package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Ubuntu package version: 3.22.0-1ubuntu1
  Desktop environment: Unity

No menubar appears either within the program window or on the global
menu when ran with super-user permissions via gksu/sudo. Bug is not
present when ran as a normal user. Bug is also not present when
logging in to the desktop session as 'root' (NOT recommended).

Similar to the bug reported in
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/1518516 ,but ONLY
affects gedit when used with sudo/gksu.

[[Related rant: Does anyone even like this new, ugly, bug-riddled
gedit interface? Like everyone else that I've seen discuss the topic,
I miss the "classic" gedit interface. It looked better and was stable
and resilient. This new interface looks awkward and is causing issues
in many DEs, including its native GNOME.]]
