ssh'ing in from a remote host:
Ubuntu 17.10 gnome-terminal and gedit do not open remote windows.
On 17.10.1 windows are opened on localhost if logged in, not on remote
host as expected.
These actions successfully opened windows on remote hosts for 16.10
