Title:
Software Centre - initial dialogue box disappears by itself, and error
message appears
Status in gnome-software package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Freshly-installed i386 version of Lubuntu daily build downloaded last
night.
I went into System Tools > Software, and was greeted with an initial
welcome screen / dialogue box that read "Let's Go Shopping!" (among
other bits I didn't get a chance to read, and it had an OK / Proceed
button or similar). Before I had a chance to read all this or click
the button, that window disappeared, leaving me with the main Software
Centre interface, but with the error message "Sorry, something went
wrong", along with an "X" to dismiss that message. This error message
appeared directly beneath the All / Installed / Updates buttons at the
top of the screen.
At the time this happened, I was online via a solid mobile broadband
(aka cellular broadband) connection.
Thanks,
Ken.
