Strange graphical elements overlayed on message list

Bug description:
Apparently, some emails make Thunderbird display various images above
the email list. Deleting the email causes the images to disappear,
although not completely: you have to do some scrolling and clicking
for it to be gone. Definitely looks like a bug.
