On my computer, I have a Touchpad On/Off switch in Settings > Devices >
Mouse & Touchpad. Could you check there?
If you don't have a switch there, could you take a screenshot of that
page?

Title:
Missing setting to disable touchpad
Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
There is no longer an option to disable the touchpad. On Thinkpads
with a Trackpoint and a Touchpad that's a common thing to do. 16.04
included this option and in 18.04 it is now missing.
