Title: rhythmbox itself prevents iPod from ejecting Status in Rhythmbox: Expired Status in rhythmbox package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Its a rather silly issue. When I try to unmount my iPod via rhythmbox, it tells me that the iPod is being used. A quick 'lsof' revealed the following: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- utkarsh@utkarsh-laptop:/media$ lsof | grep MUSICALLY_U rhythmbox 6104 utkarsh 22r REG 8,16 3499915 30048 /media/MUSICALLY_U/iPod_Control/Music/F69/04 Scar Tissue.m4a (deleted) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Apparently it was rhythmbox itself which was holding on to a file on the iPod which I had deleted; after playing another file from my local music collection, I was able to unmount the iPod easily. Is anybody else also facing a similar problem? ~ musically_ut PS: Machine info: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ utkarsh@utkarsh-laptop:/media$ apt-cache policy rhythmbox rhythmbox: Installed: 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 Candidate: 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 Version table: *** 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 0 500 ftp://172.31.76.254 intrepid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4 0 500 ftp://172.31.76.254 intrepid/main Packages utkarsh@utkarsh-laptop:/media$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bug/315077/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
