Title:
  Firefox crashes

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This report may be stale news, as I haven't been able to take the time
for several weeks to file a report.

After upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04 a couple of months ago, I found
that Firefox will crash the system so hard that power has to be
removed to restart. This happened several times. It appeared to be
due to a memory leak, as it only happens after prolonged heavy use --
over a week or more. The system gradually became more and more
sluggish and the problem could only be resolved by re-booting. I have
not experienced this problem recently, but also haven't been using
this computer nearly as much as previously.
