Title:
thunderbird is unable to authenticate on LDAP via SASL

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

  Hi,

Thunderbird's Address book does not know how to authenticate via SASL. It
only use simple ldap authentication.
It would be nice to be able to authenticate with a SASL user name when it's
proposed by the serveur. This could also be configured with a checkbox (as is
the SSL usage).

  Cheers,

  Clément Hermann
