Title:
automatic search for contacts in the "To:" field should find partial
matches
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
When writing an email, you need to specify who are you sending the mail to
(the "To:" field). While you start typing the desired contact, an automatic
search through your contacts is done for you.
The problem is this search only searches the beginning of the contact name,
while I think It should search every field in every contact you have, looking
for any partial match.
For example:
If I start typing "eorg", ThunderBird should offer me at least every george
on my contact list, in the drop down menu for me to select from.
Is this possible to implement? Is it too hard?
Thank you!
Ps: I don't know if this is the place to ask for this. If it is not, point me
in the right direction and I'll delete this.
