changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if

  firefox became very unresponsive after recent ubuntu updates.  I almost got 
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can 
stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script 
continue.
