Title:
Play of Youtube videos yields white noise or loud static instead of
  the audio track.

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Was attempting to play the Youtube video at
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noDAsZjvmSA

Instead of the sound track, there was loud static resembling white
noise for the entire duration of the video.

The same video played normally on another Lubuntu 12.10 installation I
have here, as a Virtual Box guest on my MacBook.

On my eMac, where the problem occurs, sound is working ok for playing
audio CD's with Audacious and also with Gnome Mplayer.
