Blast from the past! Clearly I must have found a workaround to this problem, since I have no memory of filing this bug, and am now on 18.04. Feel free to close this!

I have several add-ons installed, so I tried: $ mv ~/.mozilla/firefox ~/.mozilla/firefox.old Same result. I also tried launching using the "-safe-mode" flag, with the same result. I submitted a bug report through the crash window. I'm unfortunately not sophisticated enough to use the "--debug" flag. Any thoughts on what might be happening? Thanks.
