opening web page in firefox causes X to lockup

The web page is http://fresh.co.nz/homemade-quarg-or-quark/
When this page finishes loading, X becomes unresponsive to mouse or
keyboard input.
ctrl-alt-f1 doesn't open a new console.
If I shell in from another computer and kill Xorg, I can log in again
and I'm back in business. Killing firefox isn't enough.
