Hello srsubscrmgr,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 539506
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.
Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

Title:
Global extensions broken in Lucid
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
Lucid seems to have introduced a new packaging convention for
Thunderbrd: Thunderbird system files are now located in a directory
named after the version of the software (i.e.
/usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.3 instead of /usr/lib/thunderbird). That
means that a global extension placed in
/usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.1/extensions are not found after the update
to /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.3.
In Karmic, extensions are installed in
/usr/lib/thunderbird/extensions, and updates are not a problem.
Please note that we manage 70 ubuntu workstations at our office, and
we would like to have a way to keep our customizations between updates
of the Mozilla applications.
