Hello Kderek,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 567227
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.
Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

Title:
egg timer icon doesn't clear after dragging attachment to Lightning
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
An appointment (.ics file) received as an email attachment can be
added to the Lightning calendar extension in Thunderbird by dragging
it over the Calendar icon that appears on my Thunderbird 'Mode'
toolbar and clicking "Save and Close" on the 'New Event' dialog that
opens (populated with the details from the .ics file).
This is very convenient however on clicking "Save and Close" after the
dialog has closed, Thunderbird is left with the 'Egg-timer' cursor
icon spinning away indefinitely. The only way to reset the cursor icon
is to close Thunderbird and re-open it.
