You made this bug report in 2011 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 907051
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Email address name (name-addr) is always "Me" when configured as a

Bug description:
Steps to reproduce:
1- Configure an email account in two different profiles (or computers), with
same credentials/server,but different name-addr information (name-addr is the
"name" part of an email address, see 3.4. Address Specification of
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2822.txt):
Email 1: Alice - Accounting <[email protected]>
Email 2: Bob - Accounting <[email protected]>
2- Send to the same account, once from each address
3- Retrieve email. Both emails will indicate "Me
<[email protected]>" as the display name, the name-addr has
been replaced by "Me" even though both emails are sent from different
values of name-addr.
In some situations such role accounts are used to send/receive email
by several people from a single account, the name-addr part of the
email address should not be changed but instead show the correct
value.
