Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with printing to PDF,
possibly to do with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2012 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 922259
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Bug description:
I prefer to print into PDFs, so I am using cups-pdf.
Just today I got the same problem as some few months ago with
thunderbird (and I swear I really didn't changed anything or installed
anything else):
now the default path directs to the root-dir "/"
due to this we run into three errors:
(a) the direction to my home-path has been changed without any reason to me
(b) I cannot change the default-path back to my home-dir (ok, that's not the
truth - I must delete the session-directory from the hidden
.cache-directory...no comment)
(c) when printing to the root-dir, I don't get any error message. Of course I
don't have the rights as a user to safe files to root.
