I came to Ubunto because my computer (HP Pavilion netbook) is just
dreadfull and I've been told 2g ram is not enough but I'm having the
same and other problems now with ubunto. Should I just bin it and buy
another with 4g ram instead?

Title:
  No sound, no video, numpty

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am a total novice with Ubunto and not sure I'm up to the task as you
seem to speak a different language to me. I could not get it to work
and someone installed it for me but now I have no sound at all, it
also seems quite glitchy especially trying to run videos. Can you
explain in plain English please (preferably without just referring me
to the tutorial which would not work). I got as far as the command
prompt but then didn't even know how to type in my password as nothing
happened. I'd quite like to get rid of the password anyway as it is
annoying having to do that every time I come back to the computer. i
don't understand how to use these codes, are there no downloads to
click on for installing? what do I need to learn?
