Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2012 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Bug description:
After upgrading to Thunderbird 16.0.1 (via normal Ubuntu upgrade
process) one of the xmpp accounts I use to chat via Thunderbird gets
disconnected all the time although it is hard to pinpoint when it
happens: maybe after I don't use it for some minutes, when I go to the
tab where I have my chat, it is disconnected (it says "the server
closed the connection"). If I click on the name of one of my contacts,
it gets connected again. This does not happen with my irc account ,
only with my xmpp accounts (I have one @gmail and one corporate
account that uses Google Business apps).
