Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2013 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Cannot set up e-mail account with provider with no SMTP

Bug description:
The e-mail account is at mail.crosswire.org. This account no longer
has an associated SMTP sending service. I use my googlemail account
with an alias to send e-mails. I can get the account recognised but
when the 'Danger' notice appears, there is no checkbox, and the 'Done'
button is not accessible. I will attach screenshots showing the
problem. I only discovered this before reporting the #1180302 and
#1180302 bugs as I had tried a completely clean setup in case the
problem was my own.
