send email (smtp) times out since last update

Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
evolution 3.2.3-0ubuntu6
I can not send email anymore (POP mail, SMTP port 25, with password) since
last update.
Email receiving works fine.
Same problem observed with other computer using Ubuntu 12.04 and Thunderbird.
Tablet computer using other OS works fine with the same email settings.
