Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with number of new
messages in Thunderbird. You made this bug report in 2014 and there have been
several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to
this bug?
If you are, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Status bar stucked on some info

Bug description:
After a few days of normal use, the status bar is stucked on the message that
displays the number of Unread and Total email but doesn't show any other info
doing any other action. For example messages when downloading new mails or
telling there are no new mails are never shown. This problem solves at every
new Thunderbird update installed, but re-occurs after 2 or 3 days. Deactivating
and reactivating the status bar doesn't solve.
Reproduced on Ubuntu 14.04 and 13.10.
