Title:
SIGSEV when turning on display while screensaver is active (gnome-
screensaver-dialog crash)
Status in gnome-screensaver package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Since the update to Ubuntu 18.04 (ubuntu budgie) the screensaver
stopped working.
Description of the error:
When I lock the screen, the display turns black (as intended). However, when
I press a key or move the mouse to turn the display again, no login-dialog is
shown - instead I see the lockscreen wallpaper and the mouse cursor shows
graphical glitches (becoming invisible and visible when moving it).
I can unlock again by typing `gnome-screensaver-command -d` into a tty.
I have found out, that the program 'gnome-screensaver-dialog' crashes
with a SIGSEV and causes the described failure. Purging and
reinstalling the package 'gnome-screensaver' did not help. Running
'gnome-screensaver-dialog' with gdb generates the attached output
(which is hopefully useful for tracking down the problem).
