Title:
Default font isn't being loaded from correct directory
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
On a new Ubuntu 15.10 installation Thunderbird doesn't display parts
of html mails written in italic.
The reason is that the italic typeface for the default font 'sans-
serif' which is 'DejaVu Sans' is not being loaded from
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/dejavu/ but instead searched in
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/. To load the font in Thunderbird
one needs to install the ttf-dejavu-extra package which creates the
directory /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/ containing links to
the font files in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/dejavu/.
To solve this the paths in Thunderbird should be updated. Otherwise
the package ttf-dejavu-extra could be added as a dependency.
