Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.
You made this bug report in 2008 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu
and Thunderbird since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to
this bug?
If you are, could you let us know and, in the current version, could you run
the following (only once):
apport-collect 224105
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Using with Hardy Heron, since the upgrade the entire system (except the
system clock <g>) will lock up some of the times when Thunderbird tries to
download mail from one of the servers. We check multiple servers for several
accounts. Most of the time, we'll get the "It's not responding, do you want to
stop it" box pop up, other times nothing short of a hard reset using the power
button does the trick.
