We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago
and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.
Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an
issue? Can this bug report now be closed?

Characters spontaneously scrambled in Gmail

Bug description:
While typing an email, suddenly all the characters in the text area
was changed to completely different ones (see the anonymized
attachment), without any message or other sign of weirdness. It is the
first time this has happened, in any application, after many years of
using the same OS and browser. I tried to delete part of the text and
undoing (Ctrl-Z), and the *original* version of the *deleted* text
came back (but the rest of the text stayed scrambled). This leads me
to believe that it's a browser or OS issue, not a plugin issue.
