and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.
Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an
issue? Can this bug report now be closed?

Also the ui becomes non responsive suddenly. The
support.mozilla.com/1/firefox/8.0/Linux/en-US/places-locked also present...
I deleted the sqlite file but it still not working.
