Pinned tabs and bookmarks toolbar have disappeared

Bug description:
Up until 19 November 2013, my Firefox was configured with 4 pinned
tabs. For some reason. when I started Firefox yesterday, Firefox had
no pinned tabs, and in addition to that, all bookmarks on the
Bookmarks Toolbar had disappeared, despite the fact that View was set
to show the Bookmarks Toolbar.
What may be relevant is that shortly beforehand, I had clicked on
Firefox in my Launcher to launch Firefox, and it didn't launch. I then
opened the System Monitor and closed the running Firefox processes. I
was then able to launch Firefox.
What also might be relevant is that I am able to see my bookmarks (in my
Bookmarks Toolbar) if I:
1. Firefox>View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar (to deselect)
2. Firefox>View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar (to select)
