not able to make empty the "posteingang" with a lot of 1200 eMails

Bug description:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
After a lot of time there were more than 1200 eMails in "Posteingang". I
tried to clear this folder it takes very much time and ended with "is not
possible...". Only when I clear not more than 400 eMails, it will be
succesfully.
