Title:
  List view content doubles whenever selected

Status in gnome-characters package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  In gnome-characters, when selecting a category for the first time, the
  contents are fine. When selecting another category and then going back
  to the first one, the contents of the list view are doubled, all
  symbols are appended again to the list. This can most easily be seen
  in a category with only few symbols, like "Flags" (see attached
  screenshot). A restart of the app resets the list view contents to
  only a single set.

  1)

  $ lsb_release -rd

  3) The categories should look the same whenever selected.

  4) The categories expand whenever selected again.
