Title:
Fails to load message filter rules at startup

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

  1) Description: Ubuntu 9.10, Release: 9.10

  2) Package: thunderbird, 2.0.0.23+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 (karmic)

  3) Create a new message filter rule that moves an incoming message to
the local trash folder and marks it as read if the subject contains
the following string (note the backslash before the quotes)

  foo\"bar

then restart Thunderbird. You would expect Thunderbird to load the
message filter rules from the profile's msgFilterRules.dat file.

  4) After Thunderbird restarts it shows an error dialog saying the
message filter rules file could not be read.
