Title:
HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 is not listed in the printers database (lpinfo
-m)
Status in hplip package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi.
According to http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-
web/models/officejet/hp_officejet_pro_8740.html HP 8740 should be
supported with HPLIP 3.16.5. I've installed HPLIP 3.16.5 from Yaketty
in Xenial by recompiling it to build a native package with native
Xenial dependencies. I've installed the following resulting packages:
hplip, hplip-data, hplip-gui, libhpmud0, libsane-hpaio, printer-
driver-hpcups, printer-driver-postscript-hp. However, lpinfo -m
doesn't list HP 8740:
$ lpinfo -m | grep 8740
