Hello again Dan,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with hplip. You made
this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu has been updated since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
bug report?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to
this bug?
If you are, could you let us know, and in the current version, run the
following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu better.

Title:
Outdated link to opening firewall ports

Status in hplip package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
hpsetup didn't find my wireless printer (which I had configure from
another computer), and returned this error:

"This may be due to existing firewall settings blocking the required ports.
When you are in a trusted network environment, you may open the ports for
network services like mdns and slp in the firewall. For detailed steps follow
the link. http://hplipopensource.com/node/374
  "

The link there is broken. http://hplipopensource.com/node/375 talks
about other distros, but not Ubuntu.
