Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with hplip. You made
this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu and hplip have been updated since
then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to
this bug?
If you are, could you let us know and, in the current version, could you run
the following (only once):
apport-collect 1734727
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

Menu doesn't show up in Ubuntu gnome-shell appindicator when clicked

Bug description:
BEHAVIOR
When I left-click or right-click on the HP menu in the top right of the
Ubuntu 17.10 top bar, the menu doesn't appear.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
(1) open a terminal
(2) type "sudo apt install hplip-gui"
(3) open HP toolbox
(4) Restart PC
(4) After restart, try to left or right-click the hp icon in the appindicator
menu at the top-right.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
For the menu to appear when you left or right-click it (probably left-click)
