Bug description:
  Hello there,
Initially I had a version of Firefox which underwent some changes (I don't
remember the nature of change - may be for flash/other video content). It was
malfunctioning - browser used to freeze all of a sudden and I chose to
uninstall. I had to remove that in incorrect manner and result is that now I am
unable to do a good install of the latest. Additional problem: the system has
problems in sound - no audio output is there and any installation fails with
indication to Firefox update failing. Has become a nightmare in the recent
past.
Did an upgrade to 12.10 from 12.04 hoping it would solve - unfortunately it
has not. Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much!

  Regards
  Arun
