Title:
Printer configuration fails but should prompt for sudo password
Status in system-config-printer package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: system-config-printer
Problem: When a user tries to configure a network printer in the menu
System->Administration->Printing it fails. User is allowed to
configure printers. The error message that appears is: There was an
error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-bad-request'.
Expected: Would be to prompt for administration (sudo) password to
manage a printer unmanageable for the user, see below.
Solution: When doing 'sudo system-config-printer' the same printer
adds without problem with the same steps taken as for user.

Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid 2.6.32-25-generic
system-config-printer 1.2.0+20100408-0ubuntu5.2
