Title:
cosmic live session: no text/icon for network entry in shell menu

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I started a live session from the daily cosmic ISO (2018-10-02) in a
VM (virtualbox, had to pass nomodeset to work around bug #1792932),
and when I open the shell menu by clicking in the top right corner,
the entry for network settings appears empty, but it is there and can
  be expanded. See attached screenshot.
