Title:
Firefox 5 seconds long freezes every few minutes

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: firefox

I have Ubuntu 10.10 on x86_64 with an Intel Corporation 82G965
  Integrated Graphics Controller.

Since a few months (I can not be more precise) my Firefox has been
really often (one time every few minutes) freezing (not only the
rendering but also the User interface).

With the time this becames really a problem and I started to search to
  understand the issue.

At the end, I think I have found the solution here:

http://blog.kelsin.net/2009/02/24/slow-firefox-high-xorg-cpu-usage-debian-and-ubuntu-solved/

I have add "Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"" to the xorg.conf and now it
  works perfectly.

It seems to be related to xorg and gtk... but for me the only impact I
  have remarked was in FF.
