I have been able to get around this by using the nouveau.modeset=0 to boot the liveusb and get Ubuntu 18.04 installed, however there is still the compatibility issue of nouveau to a GTX1050

It currently has 14.04 desktop installed and it installs/works without issues. I am using a live USB stick with either desktop 18.04, 18.04.01 or server 18.04.01 and no matter what happens I get the following error: [3.244017] nouveau 0000.81.00.0: bus: MMIO read of 00000000 FAULT at 122124 [IBUS]. After this error shows, I an unable to proceed further and a reboot is necessary so I am unable to do the below reporting. Not sure how to proceed or fix this issue.
