Bug description:
  Binary package hint: hplip

I just upgraded a Karmic box to Lucid and use always use HPLIP from
  the official repos.

When testing my Photosmart C5580 printer I noticed that the printer
test page said "600x600 dpi" resolution, it used to say "1200x1200
dpi" for the past year and a half since HPLIP 2.8.7! Then I looked in
the printing dialog boxes (including hp-systray settings) and noticed
that the maximum dpi settings were reduced to 600 dpi, they used to be
  1200 dpi.

I pulled the PPD file out of Karmic's "hpijs-
ppds_3.9.8-1ubuntu2_all.deb" package and compared it with the Lucid
version installed at /etc/cups/ppd/Photosmart_C5500.ppd and noticed
that all of the 1200 dpi entries were changed to 600 dpi including the
"Params=Quality:Quality=" line and the "-r" parameters.

I changed back everything that was regressed to 600 dpi res and
quality and performed visual tests and the problem appears to be
fixed. I'm going to attach the original PPD and my fixed version.
