Solution:
1) sudo apt purge evince
2) delete .cache/thumbnails
3) reboot
4) install evince using synaptic

New thumbnails for PDF files not shown

Bug description:
Since upgrade to 18.10 any new PDF file shows the red acrobat icon
instead of a thumbnail. Nautilus shows the time icon as though it's
computing the thumbnail but then displays the default icon instead.
- PDF thumbnails computed before the update still show
- thumbnails for videos as images work as expected.
