I would point out that the reporter states (in the bug description) "Launching evince from the command line without specifying a file also crashes".
This means that the problem is not related to any pdf file, so asking for an upload is perfectly unuseful. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As I experience the same bug (evince crash with segfault, even if I don't open any file), I can provide more information if something could help to solve it. Invoking evince from the command line suddenly crashes, but for example evince --version evince --help both work. Also please tell me if I better open a new bug. Running evince 3.28.4 on Ubuntu 18.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797782 Title: evince immediately seg faults Status in evince package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Description: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Release: 18.04 evince: Installed: 3.28.2-1 Candidate: 3.28.2-1 Version table: *** 3.28.2-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Expected Behavior: evince opens and displays PDF document. What Happened: When launching evince, it crashes immediately with a segmentation fault. This happens every time. I have tried opening multiple PDF documents both from the command line and file browser. Launching evince from the command line without specifying a file also crashes.
