IanG (and anyone else affected),
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago
and there have been many changes in Ubuntu and Thunderbird since that
time.
Ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty) reached end-of-life on October 23, 2010.
Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported in a
currently supported version of Ubuntu?
Please let us know if you do otherwise this bug report can be left to
expire in approximately 60 days time.
Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.

Title:
"Run filters on folder" bug
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
Thunderbird ver: 2.0.0.23 (20090817)
OS ver: 2.6.28-15-generic #52-Ubuntu SMP i686 GNU/Linux
I have a problem with manual filtering:
1) Trying to run filters independently does nothing
2) Trying to run filters through "Run filters on folder" command
produces "Sending of message failed"
None of my filters require SMTP or email forwarding interventions (but
checked as okay anyway); only the moving of incoming mail to specific
folders.
Still seems to work automatically okay when downloading from server.
Cheers
