Title:
printer applet does not show other user's jobs
Status in system-config-printer package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I share a local printer plugged in my machine through the network. When
I send a job, it appears in the printer-applet (the small printer on the
panel). If someone from the network has sent a job, however, his/her
job does not appear on the list, and my job appears as "Pending". No further
information is obtained on why the job is not being printed. Of course, one
can know that there are other jobs being print using "lpq" from the terminal
or by seeing the localhost:631 site provided by cups.
I think that the printer applet should show the same information provided
by the localhost:631, otherwise one does not know the actual status of
the printer unless we use these other commands which are not
immediately obvious to a new user.
