Hey, Thunderbird maintainer here. While Ubuntu can of course keep the packages for thunderbird and lightning separate, please make sure to at least add "Recommends: xul- ext-lightning" to the thunderbird package as this is the expected configuration. (Or whatever makes it install lightning at the same time by default.)
