The interface described here has been rewritten/changed which deprecate
the issue. Feel free to open new reports for issues you might find in
current versions though

gnome-sound-properties does not play all sound effects

Tested on:
gnome-control-center 1:2.26.0-0ubuntu2
ubuntu 9.04 jaunty beta 32 & 64-bit
Hardware: nforce2 & SiS AC'97 (not hardware specific)
Description:
gnome-sound-properties plays plays only certain sound effects.
Steps to reproduce:
-On Jaunty go to System > Preferences > Sound (spawns
/usr/bin/gnome-sound-properties)
-Go to the "Sounds" tab
-Check all three boxes to Play all Aler and Effect sounds
-Press the play button next to each one
What happens?:
The following sounds do not play, even if you customize them:
-Window maximized
-Window unmaximized
-Window minimized
-New e-mail *
-Empty Trash
-Long action
-Battery warning *
* These just don't seem to have a sound assigned to them by default.
What is expected?:
All should should be playable (and have a default sample)
