My dear,
I use 18.10 and the above stated issue is long but resolved.

But thanks for getting back to me.

Merry Christmas

Title:
Nautilus saves files under wrong name

Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Nautilus saves file under wrong name

During a rename process, if you copy a file into a directory where a
file name is still under renaming, the newly copied file gets the name
of the renamed file and the to-be renamed file stays the same

  How to verify:

in a directory with one file test.txt
rename test.txt to test2.txt but DO not confirm (by clicking somewhere else
or hit Enter)

copy file something.txt into this directory (from a separate window or
  from a browser)

you see 2 files in the directory

  test.txt
test2.txt (which is something.txt you copied into the directory)

  It should be

  test2.txt (which was test.txt originally)
  something.txt

Not critical if you know it but serious if you want to find the files
  later
