time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.
Your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.
It would help us a lot if you could test on a currently supported Ubuntu
version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the
updated logs by running only once in a terminal:
apport-collect 1636646
and then change the status of the bug back to "New".

Scrollbar makes it impossible to position cursor at end of line

Bug description:
A scrollbar has been added to the text-input section of gnome-
calculator. This makes one of my most frequently used operations
impossible: clicking to position the cursor at the end of the (right-
aligned) input line, in order to enter additional operations after a
calculation. The scrollbar expands as soon as the mouse cursor
approaches the end of line, forcing you to click one digit to the left
of the end, manually move to the right with the arrow keys, and then
continue to paste or enter more operations. Please fix this by adding
a right-hand margin to the input field the width of the hover
scrollbar.
