Unfortunately, I'm not using Ubuntu now anymore, preferring more lightweight (and less user-friendly?) desktop environments. So, I don't have a way to check the behaviour correctly. In XFCE, the “Dropped Text.txt” file is created, as expected.

That is in Ubuntu 13.10 (64-bit). In previous Ubuntu versions nautilus created a text file named 'dropped text' and with the text contained. I expected the same this time.
