Interestingly the same model laptop with the same Ubuntu release and the
same PulseAudio version is reported to partially work in bug 1788121.
I'm not sure "Pulseaudio fails to detect card" is the right description
here. What problems are you actually experiencing that make you think
PulseAudio has failed to detect the card?
